WATER
Water samples were collected by a representative of Roy F .
Weston , Inc . on May 17 , 1991 and tested for Nitrate and
Dibromachloropropane.
The test results indicate that the Nitrate level is at 1 .2
mg/L and the DBCP level as not detected at the
concentration level of the reporting limit . The lab report
by Roy F . Weston , Inc . is included in this report as
Appendix A.
SOILS AND PERCOLATION TESTS
The "Soils of San Joaquin County , California" as published
by the University of California indicates the predominant
soils type at the site to be Ramona Sandy Loam ( reddish
brown ) or San Joaquin loam ( reddish brown ) . The material
we encountered in digging our b inch diameter by 3 foot
deep percolation test holes was a slightly reddish brown ,
heavy sandy material with some clay .
Three test holes were dug on the property and holes #1 and
#2 were pre-tested with the following results:
Hole #1 : Percolation rate of 30 min/inch
Hole #2: Percolation rate of 18 min/inch
On May 2, 1991 a percolation test was ran under permit and
inspection by San Joaquin Public Health Services . The
percolation rate of the test hole was 21 minutes per inch.
The results of the test is attached as Exhibit 5 .
CONCLUSION
Based upon the results of the percolation tests, the
interviews and other data , it is my opinion that the
subject property is suitable for septic systems and that
the use of septic systems should not impact or degradate
the existing water table at the density proposed . I
recommend that 10,000 S.F . for leach area expansion be
reserved South and East of the existing residence.
