The
Lsamples were then transported on ice and remanded under chain of custody to Precision Enviro-
Tech, Stockton.
k,"4.7 Chain of Custody
LThe Chain of Custody document has been included in the appendix of this report.
s5.0 SOIL PROFILE AND GEOLOGIC INFORMATION
The Site is depicted on the USGS Preliminary Geologic Map of Cenozoic Depotitr of the BellotaQuadrangle
(1979) as within the middle member of the Quaternary Riverbank Formation. This map unit
L consists of arkosic alluvium fotining Mokelumne River terraces and alluvial fan;chiefly sand;
probably glacial outwash (Plate 7).
The surface and near surface soils located at the Site are reported by the San Joaquin County Soil Survey
to be composed of Bruella sandy loam, hard substratum, 0 to 2 percent slopes, and San Joaquin
loam, thick surface, 0 to 2 percent slopes (Plate 8) (USDA, 1992). Table 3 presents some selected
Lproperties of these soils:
Table 3.
—San Joaquin County Soil Survey—
Selected Soil Properties of On-Site Soils.
lr
Soil Name Dept Unified Soil Classification Salinity Soil Perme- Septic tank
and Map h (in) mmhos/cm Reaction ability absorption
L Symbol pH (in/hr) fields
Flmella sandy 0-8: Sandy loam,SC-SM,SM. <2 6.1-7.3 2.0-6.0 Severe_pres
loam,hard 8-42: Sandy loam,sandy clay loam, <2 6.1-7.3 0.2-0.6 slowly
` substratum,0- SC
2%sloEaq
es11242-60: Sandy clay loam,sandy clay,SC <2 6.1-7.3 0.06-0.2
0-12: Loam,CLML,ML <2 5.6-6.5 0.6-2.0 Severe:
12-26: Sandy day loam,SC <Z 6.1-7.3 0.2-0.G cemented
26-35: Clay loam,clay,CL <2 6.1-7.8 <0.06 pan,peres
35-60: Indurated -- -- ---
Note:The table descriptions do not necessarily reflect site-specific soil properties.
r
V
6
