n
Surface &Subsurface Contamination Report Page 4
Sandhu Project
Project No. 597.1
February 12, 2009
• Agricultural pesticides and other chemicals have been periodically applied
to the crops on the Property. This application appears to be in accordance
with accepted practices, but chemical use in past years cannot be entirely
documented. We understand the Property is intended to remain in
primarily agricultural use, but any planned new home sites could
potentially expose residents to elevated concentrations of residual
pesticides.
No current or past use of aboveground or underground fuel tanks was
identified, although there is very limited information concerning the prior
building complex that predated 1963. The area of the former building
complex has since been plowed and ripped, and cultivated for many years.
The is no remaining visible trace of the site.
Given the recent construction of the existing building complex, it is
likely to include asbestos in construction materials, and there appears
Jtt
little potential for a hazardous release to have occurred.
(Property
f the Property as agricultural land appear unlikely to have impacted
cognized environmental condition, except as otherwise listed above.
ossibility that the former farm building complex that existed prior to
1963 may have included the use and storage of agricultural chemicals and
petroleum products.
En vironmental Conditions Impacting Site from Off Site Properties
Based on the results of the EDR State and Federal environmental database
search, and on the site reconnaissance, it does not appear likely that any off-site
facilities have impacted the Property with a recognized environmental condition.
ecommendations
We have performed a Surface and Subsurface Contamination study of the
roperty at 26206 sson Road (APN 239-230-03, & -04), Tracy, California in
co 0 aSan Joaquin County Development Title 9-905, Section 12.
Based on the conclusions set forth above Geo-Phase Environmental, Inc.
recommends the following additional work to investigate or mitigate
environmental conditions associated with this Property:
1. Any future home sites should be subject to soil testing to determine if
there are hazardous concentra ions—ofpossible residual chlorinated -
pesticides. We suggest that a four-pointcomposite sample should be
adequate for each home site. —sem ple should--be su cte-d—to
2937 Veneman Ave.,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
