Box 388 • Stockton, CA 95201-0388 <br /> 209/468-3420 <br /> August 15, 1996 <br /> To: Supervisor Bob Cabral <br /> San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors <br /> From: Donna Heran, Director <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> Subject: 28524 Kasson Road, Tracy <br /> Background: <br /> On August 7, 1996, the Environmental Health Division received a complaint <br /> alleging odors from the Fred Douma Dairy, located at 28524 Kasson Road, <br /> Tracy, are unbearable and are creating a nuisance. <br /> Disposition: <br /> On August 8, 1996, Ray Borges, Lead Senior R.E.H.S., R.D.I., met with <br /> representatives of the San Joaquin River Club to discuss concerns about odors <br /> from the dairy. Mr. Borges stated that the dairy is operating in compliance with <br /> State of California Department of Food and Agriculture Regulations. Mr. <br /> Borges advised the River Club representatives that the San Joaquin/Stanislaus <br /> County Farm Advisor, Marita Arana, could be of assistance regarding further <br /> information in guidance of this matter. <br /> On August 14, 1996, Alan M. Biedermann and I, of the Environmental Health <br /> Division, met with Supervisor Bob Cabral at the Fred Douma Dairy. We toured <br /> the facility and investigated the free stalls, the pond areas, and the irrigated <br /> crops. We could not verify any unusal or excessive odors that would be <br /> considered offensive. <br /> If you have any questions, please contact Alan M.
