Wetlands
No structures will be located within 50 feet of the wetlands located on the northwest side
of the plant. The backwash ponds and drying beds have been located between the
structures and the wetlands to provide additional buffering. If surplus reclaimed
backwash water is available, it may be desirable to discharge this water, which is free
from pollutants, to the wetlands.
Operation and Maintenance
During the first few years, water demands will be low and it will be necessary to only
operate the treatment facilities up to 8 hours per day during a day shift using one
operator.
Ultimately, it is assumed one operator will be on a "fireman" shift and be at the plant for
a 24-hour shift during which he works 8 hours, is on call 8 hours, and sleeps 8 hours.
During the day shift, up to four other operation and maintenance personnel would be at
the plant.
Schedule
It is anticipated that the design of the initial treatment system will be completed in early
1998, with construction to begin immediately. Completion is projected for January,
1999.
-4-
