The San Joaquin County. <br /> Council of Governments staff will also provide comments on traffic-related issues in a <br /> separate response. <br /> The property is located 4,500 feet from the Lodi Linds Airport's 7-25 runway, partially <br /> within the Conical and partially within the Horizontal Imaginary Surfaces. The existin4o <br /> use does not appear to violate any of the Airport Land Use Plan restrictions on uses in <br /> these areas. A copy of these restrictions is attached. Of greatest concern is the <br /> possibility that any radio transmissions used by the facility interfere with airport and <br /> aircraft communications. The Airport Manm_,cr has indicated that [the following] <br /> frequencies are currently used for airport and aircraft transmissions. Use of these <br /> frequencies in a vay that interferes with airport or aircraft communications <br /> is prohibited under the Airport Land Use Plan. Provided that these restrictions are <br /> met, ALUC staff finds this proposal in conformance with the Airport Land Use Plan. <br /> As far as future uses are concerned, the ALUC recommends that any expansion of <br /> on-site ponding be accompanied by mitigations to reduce the potential for a bird <br /> hazard. Ponds and other waterways attract birds, which pose a significant hazard to <br /> aircraft. Options available to the applicant that would minimize the attraction of birds <br /> include: use of a terminal drainage system, use of a detention basin that drains within 24 <br /> hours under normal conditions and within 4S hours during peak storms, and use of <br /> protective netting or other bird deterrents. <br /> If you need further information regardin{., this matter, please contact me or Debra Hale <br /> of my staff. <br /> Very truly yours, <br /> IETER9.
