PC: 3-18-93
SA-92-41
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Planning Commission deny the appeal of Conditions of Approval No. 1(c), 1(1),
4(a), and 4(b) for Site Approval Application No. SA-92-41.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The proposal is to excavate 297,650 cubic yards of soil to create two fish ponds for bass culture. The
north pond is to have a bottom area of 4.3 acres and a depth of approximately 14 feet. The south pond
is to have a bottom area of 9.0 acres and a depth of approximately 15 feet. The ponds will be located
on either side of a tributary of Dry Creek and will be filled from that tributary during storms.
The two ponds are to be located on the northern 18 acres of this So-acre parcel. The primary purpose
for the ponds is to irrigate the southern 32 acres. Ordinarily, a grading permit is obtained to create
irrigation ponds. However, a grading permit does not allow the removal of soil.
The applicant is appealing Development Services Condition No. 1(c) and 1(1) and Department of Fish and
Game Conditions No. 4(a) and 4(b).
-12-
