Two of the chemicals applied to the Site are listed by the US EPA as Restricted Use
Products (RUP); these are presented in bold in the table above. Additional information
on these products was obtained from U.C. Davis Extension Toxicology Network
(EXTOXNET).
Methomyl (Lannate) is a broad-spectrum insecticide and acaricide. It has a high acute
toxicity to humans, a half-life in soil of approximately 14 days, and a half-life in water of
six days to 25 weeks, depending on the level of aeration_
Lambda-cyhalothrin (Warrior, Silencer) is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide and
acaricide with a moderate oral toxicity. It has a half-life of four to 12 weeks in soil and a
very low water solubility.
The Agricultural Commissioner's records are included in Appendix 6 of this report.
7_5 Depa_rtment of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal„Resources Maps
The California Department of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) Online
Mapping System (DOMS) was queried for mapped oil or gas wells within one-quarter
mile of the subject Site.
It appears that one plugged and abandoned dry hole, the Mariposa Petroleum Company
"Navarra" 1 (API 07720338), is located on the eastern side of Parcel -10. This well was
drilled and abandoned in 1979 under Division of Oil and Gas oversight. Its location is
indicated on Plate 2.
Another plugged and abandoned dry hole, the Porter Sesnon, et al "Sesnon Vernalis
Unit 8" 74-33, appears to be located adjacent to the east of the Site_
T.6 National Pipeline Mapping System Database
Live Oak reviewed the National Pipeline Mapping System (NPMS) database on April 10,
2011 for evidence of hazardous materials pipelines in the vicinity of the Site. Two
natural gas transmission pipelines were identified crossing parcel -01 of the Site.
According to NPMS, both pipelines are operated by Pacific Gas & Electric Company.
One pipeline is in service, and the other is retired. A hazardous liquid pipeline runs
along Ahern Road approximately 0.6 miles northeast of the Site. Additional local
pipelines which are not mapped by the LAMPS may be present in the area as well.
LOGE 1117 Page 10
