Weber Ave 3rd Floor
Stockton, Calif. 95202
Regarding Septic ID# SR0026732:
Dear Mr. Mike Escotto:
This letter is to assure the Environmental Health Division that our project
contractor Mr. Patrick Easter removed the septic tank that had been abandoned at 5273 E.
Lafayette St.. The remnants of that septic tank can still be seen at the adjacent lot to the
East of 5273 E. Lafayette Street.
The project sequence went in this order, we first went to Environmental Health to
check and make sure there was no septic tank at this address because we were going to
F have to demolish the house that was there at the time. Although this property had been
connected to city sewer and the septic tank had been abandoned, the tank was still in the
ground at this site. We took but a permit to demolish the septic tank so that we might
proceed with construction of the new resident. I questioned the project contractor and he
r told me that someone from environmental health came out to inspect the work. The
inspector told our contracted that the work was complete, that the permit was final, and
that the paperwork would follow.Nothing written was provided at the time. I can only
conclude that after talking with Mr. Mike Escotto of your office that the required
paperwork was never-completed. I asked our contractor who the inspector was. He said
he did not remember his name but he could identify him.
As a non-profit housing developer it is my responsibility as Program Director to
' make sure that all the I,'s are dotted and the T's are crossed. I should have asked about
the procedures for inspections and sign-offs for abandoning and demolishing"septic tanks.
I assure you that in the future I wilt personally take care of these procedures myself.
Again the remnants of the.septic tank that we removed from this site can be seen on the
E adjacent lot. I'm enclosing pictures of the septic tank remnants for your review.
' Respe tfully yours
L J hnson .T.A. D. Program Director-
G
i I -x
