Chandler Martin
December 9, 2002
Page 2
The City is also generally concerned about the compatibility of the proposed peaker
plant with existing residential development. The location of this industrial use is
incompatible with the City of Tracy General Plan, and the approved South Schulte
Specific Plan, both of which establish policies for future residential growth for this area.
In an effort to oppose approval of this application, City staff will be attending the San
Joaquin County Planning Commission hearing to voice the concerns mentioned in this
letter.
We appreciate the opportunity to comment, but we do not see any justification for
granting a time extension. This proposed project is not well thought out and has not
been adequately analyzed. Our position is that the project's Site Approval should expire
and that no further consideration should be given.
Sincerely,
9vN d-
Bill Reeds
Director of Development and Engineering Services
cc: Fred Diaz, City Manager
Nick Pinhey, Director Of Public Works
Bill Dean, Acting Planning Manager
San Joaquin County Clerk
