December 4, 2002
DEC - 9 2002
.."Olpr!'J.R tr rEUL-!OPMent n,,,r
San Joaquin County
Community Development Department
Development Services Division
Attn: Chandler Martin
1810 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
Dear Chandler:
I hope this letter finds you well,
My name is Patricia Gomez and I am a resident at Redbridge, which is approximately
less than a mile from the Bio Mass Plant in Tracy. I have four kids and I am extremely
concerned with the installation of a gas-turbine based generating facility that is being
proposed. As I am sure you are aware, Tracy does not have the best air quality and is
getting worse.
It's bad enough that the CEC approved for GWF to build a power plant less than a mile
from a residential neighborhood but the fact that other facilities that negatively affect our
air are being considered not to far from where there is going to be a power plant and a
Bio Mass Plant is an extreme disappointment. I am against this project and respectfully
ask that you take more consideration before approving it. I would also lice to see San
Joaquin County at least permit for a public hearing and do something to educate the
residence of Tracy. It was also disappointing to learn that little has been done to aware
the residence of Tracy of your upcoming decision. People should have the right to voice
their opinion, after all we do pay our taxes and have earned that right
