The purpose of the sampling and analysis has been to determine if remedial <br /> excavation sufficiently removed soils containing elevated concentrations of diesel. A <br /> Vicinity Map showing the location of the property and the general area of the former diesel <br /> tank is presented as Plate 1. A detail drawing showing the limits of the remedial excavation <br /> and our sampling locations is presented as Plate 2, Plot Plan. The results of the laboratory <br /> analyses are summarized on the attached Table I, Summary of Soil Analytical Data. The <br /> laboratory reports and chain-of-custody documentation are attached. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Our firm prepared a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment of the property dated February <br /> 17, 2006. At the time of our Phase I study, an approximate 500-gallon above-ground diesel <br /> fuel tank with secondary containment was situated within the residential area on the subject <br /> parcel; our observations of the tank area revealed petroleum hydrocarbon staining to surface <br /> soils beneath the tank's fill port just outside of the secondary containment structure.
