• Given that the ground elevation of the Site is approximately 98 to 100 feet above mean
sea level, the depth to water below the Site is estimated to be to 74 to 90 feet,
depending on the season.
Potential Ground Water Contamination Issues
The Soil Suitability Study is not intended to be an investigation into ground-water
contamination sources, and no such investigation was conducted. Many sources can
contribute to ground water contamination, including leaking underground storage tanks,
agricultural activities, dairies, septic systems, and storm water infiltration. Agricultural
activities and the use of septic systems in the area are known ground water
contamination sources with the potential to impact the Site.
Live Oak reviewed the EHD's Water Well Data Table dated March 10, 2009 for nearby
addresses that have been tested for nitrate and dibromochloropropane (DBCP),
common ground-water contaminants in San Joaquin County. Three wells were
identified within approximately one mile of the Site. All three of the wells had been
tested for nitrate; it was detected in all three, at concentrations of 18.0 to 38.0 mg/L-
NO3. Only one of the wells had been tested for DBCP; no DBCP was detected. The
Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) set by the US EPA for nitrate as NO3 is 45 mg/L
(10 mg/L-N); the MCL for DBCP is 0.2 [g/L.
On-Site Wells
• No wells are currently located on the Site. Ms. Armosino has indicated that a well will
be drilled to serve the new house. No well permits were identified for the Site from
among the files of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department.
Water Sample
No water sample was collected as part of this investigation.
Soil Profile and Geologic Information
The Site is depicted on the Geologic Map of the San Francisco-San Jose Quadrangle,
California (Wagner, et. al, 1991). The Site is depicted within a map unit of the
Riverbank formation (Plate 7).
The surface and near surface soils located at the Site are reported by the USDA Web
Soil Survey to be composed of Veritas fine sandy loam (Plate 8) (USDA, 2019). The
table below presents some selected properties of this soil:
• LOGE 1901 Page 3
