INTRODUCTION <br /> Our office was retained by'Ms. Cheryl Lawrence, daughter'of Mr. Frank Riccobuno the . <br /> owner of the subject project,to,conduct a Soil Suitability Study for minor subdivision split to <br /> create two (2) parcels from the 40-acre parcel.' •The Accessors Parcel Number(APN)is 007-,120- <br /> 02., The property is located at 11151 Liberty Road just east of Sowles Road; Galt California <br /> (Plate 1). <br /> The Soil.Suitability Study.is required by the San Joaquin County Development Title for a <br /> minor subdivision. The.study was conducted to determine if the proposed new 2-acre.parcel is <br /> suitable for a septic system and leach lines'and was performed according to,the requirements of <br /> Section 94105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development. Major elements of the fieldwork <br /> included one(1) 10-foot exploratory soil boring,two (2) in-situ percolation tests, and one(1) <br /> ground water nitrate and DBCP test. An examination of the. 10-foot soil boring log,review,of <br /> published soil information, geologic maps, and available ground water information was used to <br /> estimate suitability of soils. This report presents the results of our study. <br /> II.: PROPOSED.DEVELOPMENT ; <br /> The 40-acre parcel will be divided to create anew 2-acre parcel and a 38-acre designated <br /> remainder.' The 3$-acre designated remainder will continue to function as a small ranch owned <br /> by Mr. Riccobuono. The 2-acre lot will contain anew small residence occupied by the Lawrence <br /> family.- A septic-system and water well on is planned'to be installed on the 2-acre.lot to serve the <br /> needs of the.new residence. <br /> III. PRESENT AND PAST USE OF THE SITE <br /> An interview was conducted.with Ms..Lawrence to determine the.history of the site. Ms.. <br /> Lawrence has lived on.the property.and has knowledge of the history of the area.' She indicated <br /> the.propertyhas been owned by.her family-for the past 20 years(about 1980)., The property was <br /> used to raise a few-cows,raise horses and grow hay." Mr.Riccobuono purchased the property._ <br />
