(4) All valves controlling the water supply for automatic fire sprinkler systems and water- <br /> flow switches shall be monitored in accordance with Section 904.3.1 of the California <br /> Fire Code. <br /> (5) Fire department access roads shall be in accordance with Section 902.2 of the <br /> California Fire Code and the standards adopted by the San Joaquin County Fire <br /> Chiefs Association. <br /> (6) Fire department access to buildings shall be in accordance with Section 902.4. A <br /> knox box shall be installed according to fire department instructions. <br /> (7) Fire extinguishers shall be installed in accordance with California Fire Code, Volume <br /> 2, Standard 10-1. <br /> (8) Fre permits may be required prior to occupancy to conduct operations hazardous to <br /> life or property. UNITED STATES FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICES (Staff Contact: Sheila Larson, 916-979- <br /> 2725, ext. 316); and <br /> CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND GAME (Staff Contact: Dan Gifford: 209- <br /> PRECONSTRUCTION SURVEY: Within 60 days prior to the beginning of any <br /> construction activities of each phase or any project activity likely to impact the San <br /> Joaquin Kit Fox or Burrowing Owl, the applicant shall retain a qualified biologist to <br /> conduct a pre-construction survey of the affected area. If active den sites are identified, <br /> the applicant shall develop and implement remedial programs in consultation with the <br /> United States Fish and Wildlife Service and the California Department of Fish and <br /> Game. If no active dens are found during pre-construction surveys, a letter report <br /> documenting the survey methodology and findings shall be submitted to the San Joaquin <br /> County Community Development Department, USFWS, and CDFG for review and <br /> approval, and no further mitigation will be required. <br /> b. ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT: In carrying out the operations of the project, the app6rant <br /> shall take no action that violates the provisions of the Endangered Species Act or the <br /> California Endangered Species Act or any other laws or regulations pertaining to the <br /> protection of animal and plant species. Compliance with said laws shall be the sole <br /> responsibility of the applicant, and the applicant agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold the <br /> County harmless from and against any claim or action by affected federal or state agencies <br /> as to the project's compliance with said laws. <br /> 3. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS (Staff Contact: Gabriel Karam, 462-3000) <br /> a. An encroachment permit shall be required for work within the road right-of-way. <br /> (Development Title Sections 9-1145.4 and 9-1145.5) <br /> b.
