December 31, 2012
FOR: San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
Mr. Rodney Estrada, Lead Senior R.E.H.S.
1868 East Hazelton Street
Stockton, CA 95205
PROJECT: Windmill Ridge Winery (Existing)
Mr. & Mrs. Bill and Stephanie Prioste, Owners/Growers
8338 West Linne Road
Tracy, CA 95304
PA-0500468 (SA), APN 253-210-31
SUBJECT: Nitrate Loading Study and Soil Suitability Study Addendum
Project No.NLS-02.06A
INTRODUCTION
Reference is made to the two Studies completed by Chesney Consulting for the owners of the
subject winery facility on February 20, 2006. These Studies were found to be acceptable to EHD
in their Approval Letter dated March 15, 2006. The Prioste's are now proposing to increase the
number of Marketing and Special Events at their winery. Consequently, the EHD is requiring an
addendum to these original Studies to demonstrate that the exiting septic system is suitable to
manage the anticipated future effluent flow volumes. The Prioste's revision to their current
winery operations includes the addition of 36 Marketing Events per year(three per month, on
average), in addition to four Special Events per year to promote the winery, with each event
having a maximum number of 100 on-site people.
This Addendum relies on the soil test results conducted for the original Studies, the
recommended septic system disposal structures subsequently installed, and the current facility
operations to formulate the conclusion that the installed system is adequate to manage the near
future flow volumes provided the recommendations presented in this Addendum are followed.
FINDINGS
The following conveys the information regardin a existing "future astewater flows,
winery operations, and primary/replacement disp areasat- a sub;} facility. There ar two
separate waste streams at the facility; the winery wastewater and domestic wastewater. The
winery wastewater originates from barrel washing, washdowns, etc.
P. O. BOX 3794 ' ?uribck, CA 95381 • Office (2og) 668-1403 • _Tax (2o9) 668-2598
