L October 5,2005
NOA Project Number. E05129A
Lof"pea gravel'were backfilled in the annular space.
Presaturation of the percolation test hole occurred on September 18, 2005. The depth of water used
to pre-soak was 12 inches above the bottom of the boring.
6.4 Condition of Borings After Presaturation
`
After the 24-hour soak period, the presaturated hole was found to be intact on September 19,2005.
The hole was found to be dry on the day of testing.
I
6.5 Percolation Test Procedure
Percolation tests were conducted for the borings on September 18, 2005 in accordance with the
requirements of the EHD. A percolation test with a duration of four hours was performed for each
L hole. Final inspection for the last half hour of the percolation tests were not observed due to a
scheduling error. Results of the passing percolation tests were submitted on September 18, 2005.
According to personal communication with Rodney Estrada on September 18,2005, the results of
j the percolation tests were accepted but not certified by the EHD. The percolation tests were all
1. performed in compliance to EHD standards and all passed by a large margin to EHD standards.
EHD found the results acceptable and allowed for them to be used in this report. (Appendix).
L
Measurement of the water level during the percolation test was from a faced reference point on the
PVC casing using an electric well sounder with an depth accuracy of I/100th foot. All tabulated
L values on the field data sheet (appendix) are in decimal feet After water drop was observed, the
holes were checked for refill. The refill level was approximately 0.5 ft (6 inches) of water above the
L bottom level of the percolation test hole. The readings were taken approximately every 30 minutes
for a period of four hours or every 10 minutes for a period of one hour.
6.6 Percolation Test Forms and Results
j The completed percolation test form is included in the appendix of this report.
A shallow percolation test is defined by the EHD as being between 36 and 42 inches in depth; a
satisfactory percolation rate for a shallow test is less than or equal to 60 minutes per inch drop. One
percolation test must demonstrate a satisfactory percolation rate within the proposed septic system
disposal field of each parcel. Details of the percolation tests are summarized in Table 8.
L10
I
