We live directly next door to 12899 E. <br /> Locke Road, Lockeford, CA, our address is 12875 E. Locke Road, Lockeford,CA. we <br /> have lived there since 08/01/98. My wife and I have 3 children ages 11, 10 & 3 and we <br /> have enjoyed the vacancy of the wood shaving operation that occupied the subject <br /> property for approxi the last 24 months. We have economic and health concerns regarding <br /> the proposed carpet business that is operating currently next door. I will describe our <br /> concerns as well as conversations 1 have had with San Joaquin County personnel <br /> regarding the operation of a business at 12899 E. Locke Road in this leiter. <br /> I spoke with Jerry Herzick and Chuck Ferrano on numerous occasions throughout the last <br /> four years regarding 12899 E. Locke Road. I was informed by both of these individuals, <br /> up until just a couple of months ago, that when the prior business vacated the site and 12 <br /> months has passed that the existing use permit would expire. We had documented <br /> numerous complaints regarding the noise,high traffic of business vehicles, egress,access, <br /> lighting and safety issues regarding vehicles staging on the Locke Road. <br /> The former business that occupied the subject property was a wood shaving operation that <br /> received large amounts of wood shavings from large semi trucks and was delivered to the <br /> warehouse and then packaged and distributed from the warehouse via large semi trucks. <br /> According to the Mr. Herzick and Ferrano the former wood shaving operation fit the <br />
