E05022B
4.5 Well Water Sample Collection,Handling, and Transportation
The sample for titrate was collected in a clean plastic container, the sample for DBCP was collected
h in two clean glass vials. The samples were then transported on ice and remanded under chain of
custody to Precision Enviro-Tech, Stockton.
4.6 Chain of Custody
it
The Chain of Custody document has been included in the appendix of this report.
L
I 5.0 SOIL PROFILE AND GEOLOGIC INFORMATION
The Site is depicted on the USGS Preliminary Geologic Map of San Francisco - San Jose
Quadrangle as within the Quaternary Riverbank Formation. Quaternary Riverbank Formation-
weathered reddish gravel, sand, and silt forming clearly recognizable alluvial terraces and fans (Plate
y)
The surface and near surface soils located at the Site are reported by the San Joaquin County Soil Survey
L to be composed of,Madera sandy loath, 0-2% slopes (Plate 8) (USDA, 1992). Table 3 presents
some selected properties of these soils:
Table 3.
San Joaquin County Soil Survey
Selected Soil Properties of On-Site Soils.
Soil Name Depth Unified Soil Classification Salinity Soil Perme- Septic tank
and Map (in) mmhos/cm Reaction ability absorption
Symbol pH (in/hr) fields
r
Madera 0-19: Sandy loam;SM <2 5.6-7.3 2.0-6.0 Severe:
sandv loam, 19-23: Sandy clay loam;SC <2 6.1-7.3 0.2-0.6 cemented
0-2% 23-29: Clay,clay loam;CL,CH,SC <2 6.6- 8.4 <0.06 pan,Peres
slopes, 193. 29-60: Indurated <2 -- slowl .
Note:The table descriptions do not necessarily reflect site-specific soil properties.
5.1 Soil Boring Locations
A total of seven soil borings were advanced on the Site, three borings to a depth of three feet, one
boring to a depth of 25 feet, two borings to a depth of about 14 feet and one boring to a depth of
eight feet. The soil borings were used later for percolation test holes;the locations of the borings
are indicated in Plate 1.
6
L '.444
L
