L
LMay 18,2006
NOA Project Number. E06045A
groundwater. Septic systems may be used for inappropriate disposal of hazardous substances. In this
case there is no evidence to suggest that wells or septic systems may be contaminant pathways on the
subject property or vicinity.
ion 5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Given the historical uses of agricultural chemicals on the subject property, meaningful conclusions
6. regarding the presence or extent of such material cannot be determined without soil sampling and
analysis. Such sampling and analysis is especially warranted in the conversion of agricultural land into
residential use.
Should any future residents of the subject property be interested in determining the quality of their
drinking water, EHD should be contacted for direction regarding the potential for impacts to
L groundwater from the agricultural history of the property and vicinity.
I The trash and debris located at the south eastern end of the subject property should be disposed
L. appropriately by the end of the construction.
If Mr.Schultz or the EHD are concerned about potential nitrate problems on the subject property from
its past use as a dairy, soil samples from the vicinity of the animal pens could be collected and analyzed
to determine soil quality.
LThe soil staining, tires, batteries, oil drums, and buckets should be removed and properly disposed in
accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
L As the site is developed, any stained soil or sources of contamination which may be identified should
be characterized and properly disposed in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
L, 6.0 LIMITATIONS
This report was compiled as a Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report for the subject property.
This report contains information and data provided to NOA by several sources. NOA in no way
warrants the accuracy or completeness of the information provided to this investigation by those
sources.
E..
It should be noted that when an environmental assessment is completed without sample collection and
„ quantitative analysis of soil and groundwater beneath the site,as in this study,no statement of scientific
`, certainty can be made regarding latent subsurface conditions which may be the result of on-site or off-
site sources. The findings and conclusions of this report are not scientific certainties, but rather,
probabilities based on professional judgement concerning the significance of the data gathered during
Lthe course of this investigation. NOA is not able to represent that the site or adjoining land contains
no hazardous waste, oil, underground storage tanks,or other latent condition beyond that detected or
Lobserved by NCA during the Surface and Subsurface assessment The possibility always exists for
L
10
L
L
