Ms. Allen
January 20, 2006
Page 2
• This proposed development may not create a major impact on state facilities when
considered by itself. However, when combined with the cumulative impacts of other
existing and proposed development in this area, the resulting traffic will contribute to
the significant congestion forecasted to the SR-99 mainline and at the interchange of
SR-99! Mariposa Road. Therefore, the Department recommends the collection of
impact fees on a "Fair Share"basis for future improvements to these facilities.
• Please forward the Final Conditions of Approval to the Transportation Planning
Division in order to monitor transportation related mitigation measures.
• We suggest that the County continue to coordinate and consult with the Department to
identify and address potential cumulative transportation impacts that may occur from
this project and other developments near this geographical location. This will assist us
in ensuring that traffic safety and quality standards are maintained for the traveling
public on existing and future state transportation facilities.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss our comments in more detail, please
contact Dan Brewer at (209) 948-7142 fe-mail: dan.brewer@dot.ca.gov) or me at (209)
941-1921.
Sincerely,
,l
T DUMAS, Chief
Office of Intermodal Planning
"Caltrans improves mobilily across<:alifornin"
