AESTHETIC IMPACTS
Verizon Wireless has carefully chosen a location for the proposed facility that will have minimal visual
impact. The proposed site is located on an industrial parcel operated as a U-Haul storage and self-
service storage facility. The facility will consist of a steel monopole with a non-reflective finish. The
antennas will also be non-reflective.
SAFETY BENEFITS OF IMPROVED WIRELESS SERVICE
Mobile phone use has. become an extremely important system for public safety. Along roads and
highways without public call boxes, mobile phones are often the only means for emergency
communication. Hwy 99 is a commuter thoroughfare and with good cellular coverage, emergency
response is just a phone call away. Furthermore, as a backup system to traditional landline phone
service, mobile phones have proven to be extremely important during natural disasters and other
catastrophes.
Verizon Wireless takes the responsibility for backup service very seriously. As such, Verizon Wireless will
incur increased expense to install a standby generator at this facility to insure quality communication for
the surrounding community regardless of any disaster or catastrophe.
CONVENIENCE BENEFITS OF IMPROVED WIRELESS SERVICE
Modern day life has become increasingly dependent on instant communications. Whether it is a parent
calling their child, spouse calling a spouse, or general contractor ordering materials to the jobsite,
wireless phone service is no longer just a convenience. It has become a way of life and a way of
business.
COMPLAINCE WITH SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY WIRELESS GUIDELINES
The proposed site meets the requirements of the San Joaquin County Guidelines for Wireless
Telecommunication Facilities pursuant to Chapter 9-1065.4 for "Construction of Freestanding
Support Structures."
a. Structure shall be monopole design.
The new facility is designed as a monopole.
b. Minimum Height Required.
The new facility is designed at 120' to allow for additional carriers.
c. New structures shall be sited, painted or otherwise treated to minimize visual impacts.
We have sited the structure on an industrial parcel surrounded by fencing which will minimize
visibility. The monopole will be a non-reflective steel construction and the antennas will also be
non-reflective.
d. Located a distance at equal to at least the height of the structure from residential structures on
adjoining properties.
The monopole will be 120' in height and will be located a distance of at least 230' from the
nearest residence on an adjacent property.
e. New structure shall not significantly displace or impair agricultural operations.
This project will not impair agricultural operations.
Project Support Statement—Verizon Wireless Site"Mariposa Road Relo" 2
