KLEIN FELDER
An employee owned company
File No. 20-4685-O1.G01
December 12, 2001
Mr. George Vieria
DEC 9 2001
California Milk Market, Inc. ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
1429 Stanislaus Street PERMIT/SERVICES
Escalon, California 95320
Subject: SOILS SUITABILITY AND NITRATE LOADING STUDY
PROPOSED RESIDENCE
FIELD OF DREAMS PROJECT
31157 STATE ROUTE 120
ESCALON, CALIFORNIA
Dear Mr. Vieria:
Kleinfelder is pleased to present the results of our soil suitability and nitrate loading study for the
proposed residence to be located near Escalon, California. The purpose of our study was to
determine the suitability of the property for septic tank usage. The study was performed in
general accordance to the requirements of Section 9-10100© of San Joaquin County Ordinance.
The following includes background information regarding the proposed development, present
use of the site, and the historical groundwater depths in the project area. In addition, discussions
regarding our investigative procedures and the site conditions encountered during our field
exploration and the results of percolation tests are presented. Finally, the results of our nitrate
loading calculations and project limitations are provided.
PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
On a preliminary basis, we understand the subject 18.3-acre project site will contain two single-
family residences along with three soccer fields and a clubhouse. At the time of our visit, the
relatively level site was rough graded for the building pads and parking lot areas. The parking
area was graveled over and the proposed clubhouse foundation construction had begun.
According to Brad Norgard of S.J. Premier Development, Inc., clubhouse is anticipated to
serve approximately 40 people for soccer games about 20 Saturdays a year plus approximately
12 people at each practice session. We have assumed that practices will be held five days a week
for the 20 weeks that games will be played.
We anticipate that waste disposal for the residences and clubhouse will be provided by individual
on-site sewage disposal systems consisting of a septic tank/leach trench sewage disposal system.
We anticipate that disposal trenches may be cut deep in order to intersect suitable percolating
soils or shallow leach lines will lead to seepage pits for disposal of effluent.
20.4685-O1.G01/201IR1543 December 12,2001
©2001 Kleinfelder,Inc.
