Thompson & Folger West Page 13 of 16
Our Project Number: LES080594
February 10, 2008
3.4 Past Off-Site Sources of Contamination
No above- or below-ground off-site potential or known sources of contamination were identified
from past uses of the surrounding properties, except for the following:
• Surrounding properties have been used for agriculture in the past; agricultural chemicals
may have been applied to these properties.
• A LUST case was located on the adjacent property to the east at 7001 Rond Road.
3.5 Current Off-Site Sources of Contamination
No above- or below-ground off-site potential or known sources of contamination were identified
from current uses of the surrounding properties, except for the following:
• Surrounding properties are used for agriculture; agricultural chemicals may be applied to
these properties.
• Dumping was observed on the adjacent property to the west near the waterway, at
least three 55 gallon metal drums and other debris piles were observed.
4.0 EVALUATION OF IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES
Agricultural chemical residues including chlorpyrifos, fenpropathrin, paraquat dichloride and
lambda-cyhalothrin may remain on the property. No evidence was found, however, to indicate
that the chemicals were applied inappropriately.
Underground infrastructure may exist on the subject property in the vicinity of the former
structures. Agricultural infrastructure may exist from the former farming operations.
The above-ground storage tank at Driveway #2 on parcel -05 is not within a secondary
containment area. Any and all leaks could potentially impact the soil.
Sulfuric acid is a hazardous chemical which has the potential to impact the environment. It
produces toxic gases and vapors and reacts vigorously when exposed to water. Sulfuric acid is
also classified as a carcinogen and is highly corrosive to skin. Caution should be exercised
when using this chemical. In this case, other than close proximity to the well head, there is no
evidence to suggest this chemical has been used inappropriately.
The current amount of debris observed at the southeast corner parcel -08 does not appear to
pose an environmental threat to the property however the debris should be disposed of
appropriately prior to land development.
The current amount of trash and debris on the adjacent property to the west does not appear
to pose an environmental threat to the subject property at this time. The 55 gallon drums may
pose a threat to the subject property and the surrounding waterways given their close proximity
902 Industrial Way•Lodi,CA 95240-209.367.3701 -Fax 209.369.4228 c200Y Nei(0.Anderson&Assnciares,Inc.
