10 June 2014
AGE Project No. 14-3035
7.2. MASS TRANSPORT PROPERTIES OF UNDERLYING SITE SOILS
This deep well-drained rich soil has a high available water-holding capacity.
Additionally, four deep septic leach pits have been installed at the ends of the septic
leach filed lines. The natural fertility of this soil lends it very well to sustainable farming
practices. Permeability is slow, available water capacity is high and the shrink-swell
potential is high. Septic leech fields should have an increased absorption field to
overcome the slow permeability.
8.0. GROUND WATER ANALYSIS
The subject property water supply well was sampled for nitrate analysis. The well is
located on the central eastern portion of the parcel and access was granted by the
property owner for sampling.
8.1 . SCRIPTION OF LOCAL GROUND WATER
The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District's Lines of
Equal Depth to Ground Water Fall 2012 indicates the depth to ground water is 100 feet
or more. Ground water is appears to flow to the southeast to southwest in the direction
of the Mokleumne River. AGE performed a ground water query on the California
Department of Water Resources (CDWR) Internet site, http://wel].water.ca.gov. Based
on the CDWR the current depth to ground water surrounding the subject property was
100 feet to 120 feet bsg (Appendix D).
Based upon a record review conducted at EHD by an AGE representative depth to
water was indicated on well permits for the surrounding area to be between 100-feet
and 100-feet bsg The well on the adjacent property was to a total depth of 350 feet at
6400 East Peltier Road.
8.2. EXISTING OR POTENTIAL GROUND WATER CONTAMINATION
The immediately adjacent and outlying land use for the parcel is agricultural in nature.
There are potential groundwater contamination issues associated with agricultural uses
and septic systems. A review of the DTSC Envirostor Database revealed one LUST site
within a two-mile radius of the site. The site has been closed for more than 10 years and
is located more than one-mile from the subject parcel.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
