5.3 Description of soil lithology as noted from test pit by appropriate professional using <br /> industry standard protocol: The soil in this area is classified as Archerdale clay loam, <br /> Stockton clay loam, and Stockton fine sandy loam as stated in the Soil Survey of San Joaquin (3 3J <br /> County, California as provided by the United States Department of Agriculture, Soil <br /> Conservation Service. <br /> 5.4 Discussion of soil lithology as related to future onsite septic uses: The Archerdale clay <br /> loam, Stockton clay, and Stockton fine sandy loam all have a slow permeability. One of the test holes failed to meet the minimum <br /> County requirements. <br /> Since one test failed, another test hole was prepared. One shallow test hole was excavated to a <br /> depth of 42 inches and 8 inches in diameter and backfilled with 2 inches of"pea gravel" in <br /> accordance with County Standards. The shallow test hole was prepared by Jake Handel of / <br /> Dillon & Murphy on September 8, 2006. On September 10, 2006 at 7:30 a.m. the 24 hour <br /> presoak period was started. The holes were filled with 12 inches of water over the gravel at this <br /> time. Environmental Health Department was notified of the start of the test. <br /> 6.4 Description of the Date, Time and Condition of the Test Hole After the 24-Hour Soak <br /> Period (Hole Still Intact, Hole Dry, Depth to Water Remaining in Hole, Etc.): On <br /> July 26, 2006 the two shallow test holes were dry. Six inches of water was added to the holes <br /> and the holes were deemed suitable to continue. One of the shallow tests passed the minimum <br /> County requirements. <br /> On September 11, 2006 the shallow test hole was dry.
