I CONDITIONS FOR WAIVER - 2 - C. Bulk Warehousing and Storage of Fertilizer Materials 1 . Good housekeeping practices shall be implemented which will prevent contamination of groundwater, surface water, and rain runoff. 2. If a fertilizer material is susceptible to wind suspension, it should be placed away from the open areas of the warehouse in order to prevent airborne contamination of soil , surface water, groundwater, or rain runoff. 3. Provided good housekeeping practices are sufficient, collection of surface runoff will not be necessary. If conditions are such that good housekeeping practices are not sufficient, surface runoff shall be collected from all contaminated areas associated with the warehouse and overhead bins, and transferred to an approved storage facility for dilute fertilizer solutions. 4. Berms, sloping rain gutters, and/or other water control devices shall be used where necessary. 5. All spilled dry material shall be collected immediately and handled in an appropriate manner. D. Material Transfer Points 1 . Good housekeeping practices shall be implemented which will prevent contamination of groundwater, surface water, and rain runoff. 2. Transfer systems shall be installed which eliminate unnecessary spillage. Hoses should not be drained in these areas unless facilities have been designated for this practice. 3. Provided good housekeeping practices are sufficient, collection of surface runoff will not be necessary. If conditions are such that good housekeeping practices are not sufficient, surface runoff shall be collected from this area, and transferred to an approved storage facility for dilute fertilizer solutions. 4. Good housekeeping practices shall be implemented which will prevent contamination of groundwater, surface water, and rain runoff. 2. Dust and splash control devices shall be used where necessary.
