Pacifex Fertilizer Plant
May 14, 1993
Page 2
Classification of the subsurface soils reveals a very fine sandy, clayey, silt. There is a fair
amount of clay throughout the soil profile, although silt and interbedded (compact) silts were
predominate. Occasional hardpan layers consisting if cemented silts were also encountered
during the boring process. These layers were approximately V-2" thick.
The soil samples retrieved were subsequently placed in 6"X12" plastic containers and sealed.
At our soils laboratory, each of the four depths were composited individually for each of the
six sites. That is to say that the 2"-12" sampled horizons for the six sites were corrTosited,
the 12"-24" sampled horizons were composited, etc. Each composite was then thoraughly
mixed and riffled, then placed into their respective plastic containers. There were four samples
for the basin area, four samples for Boring #7 and four samples for Boring #8 delivered to A
& L Labs for nitrogen analyses.
We appreciate the opportunity to perform this service for you.
