Lodi
Facility Planning Department
August 19, 1998
Mr. Emile Atwood
9025 West Lane
Stockton, CA 95210
SUBJECT: SU-91-12
APN 086-070-35; 10600 N. St. Rt. 99 East Frontage Road,Stockton
Dear Mr. Atwood:
Enclosed is a copy of our letter which we sent to the San Joaquin County Planning
Commission/Community Development Department in response to the Referral on your application for
a Time Extension for a Major Subdivision application referenced above. Because there are no State or
other local funds for school construction at the present time, or in the foreseeable future, the District
requests that the owner/developer of any property having the potential for residential development
enter into an agreement for provision of school facilities as mitigation for the potential impact on the
District's ability to house students generated by the new residential units. Basically, this agreement
calls for payment of a "standard supplemental" development fee in the amount of$3.27 per square foot
for each new residential unit. This agreement would apply only in the case of construction of
permanent residential units and would have no impact on the fee for commercial development
which is currently$.31 per square foot.
We have enclosed two copies of our standard agreement for your consideration and execution. Once
we have received an executed agreement, we will notify the County that provisions have been made
for school facilities and that the District has no objection to the project. Tlease note that the
signature(s) on the agreement must be notarized and a legal description of the property attached for
recording purposes. If you do not have access to the services of a Notary Public, we can provide that
service for you in our office. Should you have any questions, or if we may provide additional
information, please do not hesitate to call either Lynette Craven or myself at (209) 953-8218. We look
forward to hearing from you and appreciate your consideration of this matter.
Sincerer,
t (
Mary Joan Starr
Assistant Superintendent
Facilities &Planning
\1TS/LC
Enclosure
cc: San Toaquin County Community Development Department
`.x305 E.Vine St.
Lodi, CA 95240
209-331.7218 • 209-953-8218
209-331-7229 Far
