We have the following comments:
the interchanges on SR 99 and Armstrong Road and SR 99 and Harney Lane ate not designated
as an STAA terminal access route. The operation of STAR sized vebicles on these ramps would
be a violation of the California Vehicle Code.
Prior to the projects development, the project's trip generation and distribution should be
analyzed and provided. Additionally, the types of trucks and trailer lengths will need to be
analyzed to verify the off.-tracking at the freeway off and on-ramps that will be used accessing
this facility should be analyzed.
Dependent on, the results of the above trip generation and access information,it may be necessary
to conduct a traffic impact study. If necessary, the study should be prepared in accordance with
the Caltrans GWde for the Preparation of Traffic Impact Studies. Minimum content of the TIS
are listed in. Appendix "A" of the TIS guide, The Guide is available online at the following web
address.' www.dot.ca,RqYU/traffPl&ve- 2nL/ ationals ste I s/tis ide. #
j Consideration for which interchanges will be able to accommodate trucks will require analysis.
Examination of whether turning radiuses at all of the interchanges within the area onramps can
be used safely by trucks will need to be included in the Traffic Impact Study. "Phis will include a
delineation of which interchange will be restricted from or allowed to be used by ,heavy duty,
trucks that are served by this project.
"Caftan ImprovesmahPiryacmis Calirarnia"
