Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Dear Ms. Mueller:
Thank you for the opportunity to review the Site Approval Application for a manufactured homes sales lot
with a 30' X 50' office for Mauri Knapp. The project site is located on the southwest corner of State Route
99 Frontage Road and Lathrop Road, Manteca(APN: 218-020-02).
We have circulated copies of the application and plans to our traffic operations/safety units for review.
Caltrans has the following comments:
1. Caltrans has determined that this project will contribute to cumulative impacts at the intersection of
State Route(SR)99 and Lathrop Road. Therefore, Caltrans recommends the collection of impact fees on
a"Fair Share"basis for this intersection.
2. Caltrans would like to review proposed final site plans on the subject property.
3. Prior to, or as part of the issuance of an encroachment permit, Caltrans may require a drainage study.
4. A Caltrans Encroachment Permit will be required for any work performed within the right of way.
Additional biological, archaeological, or other environmental studies may be required as a part of the
encroachment permit application. A qualified professional must conduct any studies undertaken to
satisfy the Caltrans environmental review responsibilities. Ground disturbing activities to the site prior
to completion and/or approval of required environmental documents may effect Caltrans' ability to issue
a permit for the project. Furthermore, if engineering plans or drawings will be part of your permit
application, they must be prepared in metric units.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss our comments in more detail, please contact Mike
Higgins, at(209)948-3996 (email: mhiggins@dot.ca.gov).
Sincerely,
Tom Dumas,Chief
Office of Intermodal Planning
Knapp Page 1 03/21/01
