(*See below)
• Fire sprinkler systems shall be installed per applicable codes and ordinances.
• Fire alarm systems shall be installed per the applicable codes.
• Knox boxes shall be installed according to the local fire department's requirements.
• Fire extinguishers shall be installed per the California Fire Code.
• Fire permits may be required prior to occupancy.
*The calculated fire flow for a 120,000 square foot building, type II-N or 111-N construction
would be 7,250 gallons per minute for a 4 hour duration, type V-1 hour construction would
require 6,250 gpm for 4 hours, and types 11 or III 1 hour would require 5,000 gpm for 4
hours. All of these flow requirements may be reduced to no less than 1,500 gpm for 4 hours
if the whole building is fire sprinklered.
Further questions regarding Fire Code requirements for this project may be directed to myself at
209-468-2229,or Chief Mike Kirkle of the Woodbridge Fire District at 209-369-1945.
Sincerely,
t
Steve Dalton
Fire Marshal
San Joaquin County
Fire Prevention Bureau
C: Mike Kirkle
file
