The laboratory analytical results are attached as Appendix 5 of this report.
Soil Profile and Geologic Information
The Site is mapped on the Preliminary geologic map of showing Quaternary deposits of
the Lodi Quadrangle, California (Marchand and Atwater, 1979). It is depicted within two
map units of the Modesto Formation upper member, described as "arkosic alluvium
forming Mokelumne River alluvial fan; chiefly sand, becoming finer-grained toward fan
toe, probably glacial outwash" and "arkosic alluvium forming low dunes on Mokelumne
River fan and in the Delta; probably eolian, although not well sorted" (Plate 7).
The surface and near surface soils located at the Site are reported by the Soil Survey of
San Joaquin County, California (USDA, 1992) to be composed of Tokay fine sandy
loam and Tujunga loamy sand (Plate 8). The table below presents some selected
properties of these soils:
Table 1. See description of the map unit for
composition and behavior characteristics of the map unit.
Soil Borings
On November 11, 2014, Live Oak excavated shallow soil borings on Parcels 1 and 2 of
the Site for the purpose of conducting percolation tests. The borings were four inches in l'
diameter, 3.30 and 3.40 feet deep, and were excavated by hand auger (Table 2). The /
locations of the boring are indicated on Plate 9. r 1)
The soil in the borings was similar to that described by the Soil Survey. In boring P1,
silty sand was encountered to the full depth of the hole. In boring P2, sand with silt was 5 g,
encountered to the full depth of the hole. The logs for the soil borings are presented on
Plates 10 and 11.
LOGE 1422 Page 5
