Soil Suitability Study APN: 005-141-29 -PA-03-587- Service Request# SR0036504
Parcel 1, Approximately 2.0 Acres Total
6.0 Percolation Test Information
6.6 Percolation Rate Calculation
The percolation rate of 27.77 minutes per inch listed on the Percolation
Test Details Sheet contained in my Soil Suitability Study dated December 23,
2003 was determined on the basis of a 30-minute observation period, which is
erroneous. The percolation rate calculation needs to be based on a ten-minute
observation period which results in a percolation rate of 9.26 minutes per inch
which is the correct rate.
3.7 Septic Site Usage and 6.8 Type And Size Of Septic System
Section 8.0 Comment and Recommendations of my Soil Suitability Study
dated December 23, 2004, which states "discharging effluent into a 12,000 sq. ft.
minimum usable disposal area with seepage pits is recommended for this single
parcel" is inappropriate and needs to be revised in its entirety. This is not an
appropriate recommendation for a commercial site.
Septic use and size needs to be based on the planned parking area for
the site. The project site map shows that nine (9) parking spaces are to be
provided and based on the nine (9) parking spaces a 1600 gallon septic tank with
333 feet of leach line plus a 100% designed disposal replacement area will be
required. Also the septic area should not be driven over, parked on, or used as a
storage area. The leach field shall be for septic purpose only. This may require a
reduction in the number of planned storage units.
The above needs are based on the following calculations:
9 spaces X 15 gallons = 135 gallons plus 1200 gallons =1335 Total Gallons.
Leach lines are based on 25% - 1335 x.25 = 333' of leach line required. Also a
1600-gallon septic tank is needed.
Sincerely,
Walter E. Curtis.
Attachments: Sanitation Permit No. 73-587
Sanitation Permit No. 93-792
Well Permit No. 73-270 W / 73-303 P
Matriscope Inc.-25655 North State Highway 99, West Frontage Road, 3
Acamno California 95220
