Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report *"""**"*APN: 005-09-53 '" '**Parcel Nos. 1 and 2
This soil is moderately deep to a hardpan and is moderately well drained. It
formed in alluvium derived from granitic rock sources. Typically, the surface layer and
the upper part of the subsoil are brown loam about 16 inches thick. The next ten(10)
inches of the subsoil is a claypan of brown clay. The lower part to a depth of sixty(60)
inches is a brown and light brown indurated hardpan.
Permeability is slow and available water capacity is low. The shrink-swell is high.
Water is briefly perched above the claypan and hardpan after periods of heavy rainfall.
Runoff is slow, and the hazard of water erosion is slight. The rate of water intake in
irrigated areas is 1.0 inches per hour.
Applications should be regulated so that water does not stand on the surface and
damage the crops. Where feasible, deep ripping of claypan and hardpan layers can
overcome these restricted areas.
The characteristics of this soil encountered at various depths below the ground
surface are as follows:
SAN JOAQUIN—URBAN LAND COMPLEX, 0 TO 2 PERCENT SLOPES
Depth Liquid Plasticity Percent Permeability Shrink-
In Inches Material Limit Index Clay (Inches/Hour) Swell
0" - 16" Loam 15 -30 NP - 1- 10 15 - 25 0.6-2.0 Low
16"- 26" Clay Loam, 40- 50 25 - 35 35 -50 <0.06 High
Clay
26"—60" Indurated -------- -------- ------- ----------- - ---
Gas Well Analysis: The State of California, Department of Conservation,Division of
Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources was contacted and it was confirmed that an
abandoned gas well is located on the subject property and was abandoned on November
19, 1968. The Department of Conservation's map together with a history of the actions
and activities that have taken place on the gas well from its original drilling to
abandonment are contained in the four(4) sheets comprising Appendix II which is
attached to and made an integral part of this report.
The State of California, Department of Conservation,Division of Oil, Gas and
Geothermal Resources requests that they be contacted before any construction is begun
on the subject property and they will then determine and take what actions need to be
done to assure a secure and safe gas well and also what actions can be taken in and
around the well area.
DBCP & NITRATE CONCENTRATIONS& UNDERGROUND TANKS DATA
Maps entitled"DBCP and Nitrate—Land Use" available in the Environmental
Health Department's office were consulted and contained the following chemical
concentrations in the area of the subject property:
Rnhert W Tnwerc -25819 No State Rte 99 F Frnntane Rnad- Aramnn-ralifnmia g592n 5
