f
WAREHOUSE COMMERCIAL INDUSTRIAL
Construction should meet the California Model Building
And Security Ordinance as developed by The California
Crime Prevention Officers Association.
Parking area should allow for visual observation by
employees and security personnel.
Landscaping should include security shrubbery along
fences to discourage climbing.
Security shrubbery should be used under windows.
The site plan depicts numerous trees around the perimeter
and interior of the complex. All trees and plants should
be placed and maintained in such a manner as they cannot
be used to provide concealment for criminal activity. Trees
should be trimmed from the ground to a height of six feet
and placed so they do not obscure observation by employees
or security personnel.
Earth berms should not exceed one and one-half feet in
height so the do not obscure observation of the property
by security personnel or patrol deputies.
CCTV should be considered for the loading dock area.
Lighting requirements should include:
One quarter (25/100) footcandles of illumination per
square foot of surface in the parking area. Readings
should be taken on the ground surface.
Perimeter lighting should create an even band of light
25' to 50' wide along the entire perimeter of the project.
Auxiliary lighting over each point of entry.
Lighting fixtures to be of vandal resistant construction.
Lights should be controlled by timers. They should be
capable of turning the lights on one-half hour past sun-set
and -eft one-half hour before sunrise.
e4
