` M KLEINFELDER
1. upper 3.5 feet of site grade or 30 min/inch for deeper tests. Accordingly, the new sewage
disposal system will need to consist of a leach field employing seepage pits that extend into the / "o
silty sand stratum and are designed in accordance with the San Joaquin County Sewage t
6. Standards. The septic tank for the new disposal system will also need to be sized in accordance
with the San Joaquin County Sewage Standards.
LEven though the estimated waste/septic flow and nitrate concentration of the leach field
effluent value used in our calculations are probably conservative, we estimate that the potential
nitrate-nitrogen (l) concentration in groundwater resulting from both the existing and new
leach fields should be below the state standard of 10 mg/1. Accordingly, the impact to
3,h surrounding wells should be low. The impact to the Calaveras River (the nearest natural water
rr.
body located about 'h mile to the southeast) should also be low.
9. LEMTATIONS
r
The conclusions of this report are based on the information provided regarding the existing
development and on the site conditions. It was assumed that the percolation test results are
6. representative of the subsurface conditions in the general area.
This completes the scope of work requested. Our work was performed in general accordance
with the standard of care that exists in San Joaquin County. No other guarantee or warranty,
expressed or implied, is made.
tr
6.
r
` 40141.COI/ST04P206 February 24,2004
©2004 Kleinfelder,Inc. Page 7 of 7
