No calculations were provided for the proposed design. The proposed design is clearly inadequate. As discussed above, Chesney measured a percolation rate of 250 minutes liar inch in the shallow soils and said that the percolation rate in the shallow soils wa; "virtually non-existent". No percolation capacity should be allowed for the shallow leacl i lines. Page 18 of the County Standards allows a 36-inch seepage pit to be counted as 70-feet of leach line. The proposed six seepage pits thus would be the equivalent of,i•20-feet of leach line. This Is less than two-thirds of the 670-feet of leach line that Ch(,sney said was required and as discussed above, the flows are likely to be much h gher than Chesney estimated. Based on the minimal information currently available, it seems virtually eertair that there is insufficient land available at this site to accommodate the probable wastewater flows and it is also virtually certain that the proposed wastewater disposal system w II fail. This project must not be approved until a realistic operating plan explaining th ; probable usage of the facility and a reel engineering design is presented for review. It Is also noted that neither the current site plan nor the previous one allo'vs vehicle access to the septic tank. It will therefore be extremely difficult, it not imfossible to service the septic tank. The likely result of the lack of access will be that the lank is not pumped regularly and what little percolation capacity that might exist vrlll quickly become clogged.
