Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
Gentlemen:
Reference is made to the Preliminary Environmental Impact Report
for Roberts Island Marina, EIR-78-6/U-78-24, furnished for our
review and comment by your January 31 , 1978 , transmittal letter .
We have the following comments on this Draft Environmental Impact
Report (DEIR) . We hope you can use them in preparing a final EIR.
Page 3 - The discussion on Delta Levees is general in nature.
We suggest that this section should be specific as to the project
site and should include a description of the levee material , the
base, failure or near failure, and subsidence. (This information
probably is available from the local reclamation district,
RD 684. )
Page 5, Section 3 - The map, Figure 3 , is from a U. S . Geological
Survey 7-1/2-minute quadrangle and should be so identified in the
text. It is not, as the text infers , a State Department of Water
Resources map.
Page 12 - The section on the Delta Master Recreation Plan (DMRP)
should mention the latest DMRP dated September 1976.
Page 19 - The section on Loss of Wildlife Habitat and Vegetation
should be specific and state the losses expected at and near the
proposed project site.
Page 20, second paragraph - We suggest that "would not be" be
changed to "are not" recommended. The latter we believe is more
positive language.
-C8-
wiw.
