Soil Suitability Study 5
Well Water Analysis :
Four (4 ) samples of well water were taken from the two ( 2 )
known wells on the subject property. Two samples , one for nitrate
(NO3) and one for Dibromochloropropane (DBCP) , were taken from each
of the wells for a total of four (4 ) samples . Both wells are near
the existing home and west of it . The existing homesite is at the
north terminus of North Nichols Road. The agricultural well is the
most westerly well and the domestic well is nearest the existing
home. The specific locations of both the wells , as well as the
homesite , are shown on the attached "Parcel Map" .
The results of the tests on the sampled water from the two
sources for Dibromochloropropane (DBCP) and Nitrate ('703 ) are
tabulated below :
Chemical Constituent
Dibromochloropropane Nitrate Maximum
Contamination
Level
Source (DBCP) [ug/Ll (NO3 ) {MG/L} tuff/L] {mg/L }
Agricultural Well ND* 6 . 5 0 . 2 45
(Most westerly well )
Domestic Well ND* 4 . 0 0 . 2 45
(Dearest home)
*ND = Not detected at or above the concentration of the
detection limit of 0 . 01 ug/L .
Dibromochloropropane (DBCP) was not detected at or above the
detection limit of 0 . 01 ug/L for either of the two wells tested .
The test results are well within the tolerances established for
this chemical and no special DBCP requirements are necessary for
any wells .
The test results of the two wells tested for Nitrate (NO3 ) ,
also , were well within the tolerance established for this chemical
and no special nitrate requirements are necessary for any wells .
The well water analysis was performed by FGL Environmental and
is shown on the attached three (3 ) letters . The Nitrate (NO3) test
results are contained in one letter dated November 19 , 1992 . The
Dibromochloropropane (DBCP) test results are contained in two
letters , both dated November 23 , 1992 .
MS-91-40
F,vered J . (Red) Mason
