The spigot is located on the northwest side of the (i���� ✓ <br /> driveway. The water spigot was allowed to run until cool water flowed. Samples for the <br /> nitrogen anylisis was collected in a plastic container. Samples for the DBCP were collected in <br /> glass jars, filled to the top without air bubbles. The water samples were immediately taken to (�s) ✓ <br /> Precision Analytical in Stockton. The chain of custody for the samples is attached to this report <br /> in the Appendix. Nitrate in ground water occurs as <br /> a result of the application of fertilizers, livestock waste, and untreated septic tank waste. Nitrate <br /> is mobile and often accumulates in the shallow ground-water zones. <br /> In the early 1900's, natural levels of nitrate in ground water were measured in forty-three <br /> (43) wells throughout the Sacramento Valley by Bryan.Z It was thought that ground water at that <br /> time was close to "natural"conditions.
