A <br /> quantitative analysis would be difficult to estimate for the residential parcels. <br /> We understand from experts in agriculture that leaching of nitrogen into ground water—even <br /> from the recommended dosage of fertilizers—does occur and can impact ground water quality. <br /> The Ripon area is especially sensitive to nitrate impacts to ground water due to the presence of <br /> sandy soils, shallow ground water, and intensive agriculture. <br /> — <br /> Due to these uncertainties, no analysis was made to estimate the contribution of leaching nitrates <br /> in irrigation water from future agriculture.
