Height Limitations
Airport Property AP) requires an airspace review for objects over 35 feet tall. The elevation plan shows a height
if 34' ft. 6 in. Any temporary or permanent object will be incorporated into the total building height.
Other Hazard of Flight
The project applicant must strongly consider the standards and project design conditions below during the
development of the project. The application states "Materials used on-site includes but not limited to the
following. Boiler Water Treatment Chemicals, Water Softener (Salts), Propane, Tri -Gas (Carbon
Dioxide/Argon/Helium), Acetylene, Hydraulic Dil, Sanitizers, Stainless Steel Cleaners, Glass Cleaners, Aerosols,
Bleach, Deodorizers, Chlorinated Cleaners, Gear Lubricant, and Gasoline. Materials stored on-syte includes but
not limited to: Dental Amalgam, Compressor Oil, Vopo-Steril, Coid Steril, Fixer/Development, Glutaraldehyde, and
Lead Foil." The storage containers of the materials used or stored can become reflective, which may create glare
or distracting lights. In addition, SJCOG staff requests clarification the transfer of waste will not create smoke,
dust, or steam that could impair the pilot's vision.
Noise
The project lies within CNEL (,Community Noise Equivalent Level) 60 and SEL (Sound Exposure Level) 95. SJCOG
staff recommends the project refer to 1d below.
SJCOG would like to provide standards and project design conditions that comply with the Airport Land Use
Compatibility Plan (https://wvdw.sjcog.org/ALUC) as a reference guide. Note: Jurisdictions determine if the
following standards and conditions apply to this project.
1. Newland
uses that may cause visual, electronic, or increased bird strike hazards to aircraft in flight shall
not be permitted within any airport's influence area. Specific characteristics to be avoided include:
a. Glare or distracting lights which could be mistaken for airport lights. Reflective materials are
not permitted to be used in structures or signs (excluding traffic directing signs).
b. Sources of dust, steam, or smoke which may impair pilot visibility.
c. Sources of electrical interference with aircraft communications or navigation. No transmissions
which would interfere with aircraft radio communications or navigational signals are permitted.
d. Occupied structures must be soundproofed to reduce interior noise to 45 decibel(dB) according
