July 13,2001
Job Number:LGO1-191
Page 2
Due to the San Joaquin County PHS-EHD's concern with nitrate contamination of shallow
ground water in the county, a nitrate loading study was a requirement for project approval. The
nitrate loading study was conducted to estimate the potential impact of nitrates from the septic
system waste water into the ground water aquifer. This report presents the results of our study.
II. PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
The proposed project will consist of constructing a four bedroom residence on a 0.72 acre
property. Approximately 18 inches of fill are to be placed on the site prior to construction (Plate
1). We understand from our client that public water service is available to the residence however
public sewer service is not available.
III. PRESENT AND PAST USE OF THE SITE
We understand that Mr. Burgess recently purchased the subject property from Orest
Wesely. Mr. Burgess indicated that Orest Wesley owned the property for approximately 50
years and it was used to grow fruit trees and for riding horses. Presently there are a number of
trees present on the property and several mounds of soil fill are located on the site.
The subject property is zoned as Low Density Residential (R-L). The R-L zone is
intended to provide for neighborhoods consisting of detached, single-family residences, located
within or immediately adjacent to population centers which are served by a public water supply,
sanitary sewer system, and similar facilities and services. Again, we understand that a sanitary
sewer system is not available to the parcel.
IV. SURROUNDING USAGE
The site is bounded by Country Club Boulevard to the South, Rainier Avenue to the west,
and residential parcels to the north and east. The Stockton Country Club golf course property is
located about 100+- feet west of the property. The surrounding neighborhood is residential.
•- The following interviews were conducted with available persons who live or work near
the subject property and/or have knowledge of septic system and water well performance. There
responses are condensed and summarize in Table 1.
jocRso
N
 Z r
o
r
