July 13,2001
Job Number:LGOl-191
Page 11
Based on the results of this study, the proposed project is suitable for use with an
"engineered"septic system. We believe that with the use of this system, the proposed project
will not cause a buildup of nitrates in the ground water above the maximum contaminate level ofr
drinking water of 10 mg/L-N. The recommendations for the project are as follows:
1) We recommend the project utilize an engineered septic system. The engineered
septic system will most likely rely on evapotranspiration and soil absorption for
effluent disposal. As an option, high moisture-consuming plants and high nitrate
consuming plants such as grasse trees could be placed next to (or on)the mound
to improve performance of the system. uo. Specifications for the engineered fill underlying the
septic system should be provided by the engineer designing the septic system.
r_
Our office would be pleased to provide you with this service.
3) Follow San Joaquin County PHS-EHD Sewage Standards where applicable. A
minimum of five (5) feet separation between the bottom of the disposal bed and
ground water will be required by this agency. Ground water was found to be 4.8
feet below the ground surface in the proposed septic field.
IX. LIMITATIONS
The conclusions of this report are based on the information provided regarding the
existing and proposed development, the use of the subject property, and the site conditions as
they existed at the time we excavated our test holes and performed the percolation test. It was
_ assumed that the test holes and percolation test results are representative of the subsurface
conditions in the general area.
r_
rpE RSO
f
Z r
1rs O C♦
r
