Elwyn Heinen Q
Advanced Design Group, Inc. 4-
1120 Sixth Street
Modesto, CA 95354-2203
Subject: Percolation Test
Rivercrest Vineyard, Inc.
18700 E. River Rd.
Ripon, California
Our Job #: S98100
Gentlemen:
Per your request we have completed performing a percolation test at the subject project. It
is our understanding that the percolation test is to aid in the design of a proposed leach field system
at the subject project. This letter and attachments present the results of our tests.
L The percolation test was performed by an engineer from our office. The test hole(PT-1)was
located in the area of the proposed leach line system at the southeast corner of the lot. A 48-inch
profile hole 1.was excavated with a hand auger. The profile hole was logged by-an engineer and a
description of the soils encountered is presented on the attached Log of Test Hole Sheet located in
the appendix. The surface soil consisted of a fine to medium sand which was underlain by a fine to
medium sand with silt continuing to the maximum depth explored. For a detailed description of the
soils encountered refer to the log of test hole.
A shallow percolation test extending to a depth of 36 inches was performed adjacent to the
profile hole. A 4.0 inch diameter test hole was excavated and 2 inches of gravel was placed in the
bottom of the hole. A two-inch diameter perforated pipe was then placed and backfilled with gravel.
The test hole was filled with water 24 hours prior to running the test. The last half hour of the test
readings were witnessed by a county health official and the test data obtained is enclosed in the
appendix. The percolation rates have been adjusted to account for the pipe and the gravel backfill.
Calculations for this adjustment is on the test data sheet located in the appendix.
