Box 4760 Modesto, CA 95352 INCOMPLETE RWD INFORMATION ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, MUNN AND PERKINS AGGREGATE FACILITY, E§C L , SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY Staff has reviewed the 12 February 2007 RCRWQCB Report of Waste Discharge Letter Dated 5 December 2006 correspondence prepared by Munn & Perkins that requests additional information on preparation of a Report of Waste Discharge (RWD). You request a list of analytes, analytical test methods, and detection limits. Staff has prepared the following table that lists the analytes of concern. The table also summarizes some of the data submitted in the 10 February 2006 RWD and the appropriate Water Quality Limit (WQL). For each analyte presented, you can see that the reported concentration, or the detection limit, is greater than the WQL. For the instances when the concentration exceeded the WQL, it is possible that the concentration is due to failure to filter the sample prior to digestion and analysis; the RWD did not state whether filtering had occurred. Please resample the wastewater, ensure that the sample is filtered prior to digestion and analysis, and use an analytical method that provides a sufficiently low detection limit to allow meaningful comparison of the result to the WQL. For the instances when the detection limit is too high, please perform the sample collection and preparation as described above but instruct the analytical laboratory of the necessary detection limit.
