To quantify the existing ambient noise <br /> environment along East River Road, continuous ambient noise level measurements were <br /> conducted from September 27 through October 2, 2008 at the five representative locations <br /> identified on Figure 2. Although there are no residences as close as 40 or 50 feet from the East <br /> River Road centerline, Sites 1. 3 and 5 were selected from available locations along East River <br /> Road to represent logical distance intervals between noise measurement sites. <br /> Larson Davis Laboratories (LDL) Model 820 precision integrating sound level meters were used <br /> for the ambient noise level measurement survey. The meters were calibrated before and after <br /> use with an LDL Model CAL200 acoustical calibrator to ensure the accuracy of the <br /> measurements.
