Is it customary for San Joaquin County
to permit such an application (removing 2.4 million cubic yards of rock, sand and gravel over a
period of 12 years.) without performing an Environmental Impact Report?
It is our hope that the county will honestly address the impacts of this project on neighboring
landowners. Impacts such as the extensive use of groundwater on an already taxed basin, the
affects of the project on our already "severe" air quality, the affects to water quality due to the
large amount of natural earthen filtration being removed (future groundwater quality impacts and
protective measures that will be instituted), any potential of water runoff due to the project,
traffic and finally the cumulative affects of this project with others.
Regards,
Jo etersen
Program Director
on onv ..1A ."I, ninRTN M)ART RnAn•!2091 931-4931 •STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA 95208
