RECLAMA N PLAN(Rev#2 —Bellino Pit
George Reed,Inc.
Page 5
II. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED MINING OPERATION (continued)
F. Contaminants
There are no potential contaminants applicable to this project other than soil amendments or fertilizer used in
the almond orchard. Berms or slopes will control off-site drainage of these potential contaminants.
G. Waste Water
No wet processing of materials occurs at the site; therefore no wastewater discharge concerns are associated
with this project.
H. Water Impoundments and Diversions
Impoundment or diversion structures will not be constructed within the project area.
1. Ore Processing
All materials will be processed at the existing processing plant operating under a separate permit. This
project will not increase production at the processing plant.
J. In-Stream Mining
In-stream mining does not apply to this project.
K. Other Information
Traffic
The haul route will run along the southern 800 feet of Harrold Avenue and continue 0.10 miles west on River
Road to the processing facility entrance, with a projected daily truck traffic count of approximately fifty 5-
axel truck trips. The haul route is depicted on the USGS 7-%: Map [Attachment "A"]. At the request of the
San Joaquin County Department of Public Works,a pavement evaluation has been performed by Kleinfelder
and Associates to address the increase in truck traffic. Based upon the evaluation results, a 4" asphalt
concrete overlay will be placed on the Southern 800 feet of Harrold Avenue(from the extraction pit ingress/
egress) to River Road. To reduce the potential for moisture to pass into any existing cracks in the pavement,
a geotextile will be placed over the existing asphalt concrete prior to placement of the new asphalt concrete.
All pavement materials will conform to the latest edition of the Caltrans Standard Specifications, and
construction within street rights-of-way shall be to San Joaquin County Standards. In accordance with San
Joaquin County ordinances, a minimum of 100 feet will be paved at the project ingress/ egress. A copy of
the pavement evaluation is included. [Attachment`B"].
Piueline
Ongoing discussions are currently taking place with the SSJID to consider relocation options for the existing
pipeline. If an alternative location and logistical/economical concerns are agreed upon, material underneath
the existing pipeline would be mined. If and when an agreement is reached, relocation of the pipeline will
occur during a winter period of Phase I activities. Rock and Sand quantities are estimated at 160,000 CY,
and Overburden is estimated at 38,000 CY. With annual average mining quantities estimated at 243,000 CY
of Sand & Gravel and 131,000 CY of overburden respectively, the additional material would provide eight
(8) months of mining activity. Since weather conditions and market factors can alter the approximation of
the reclamation timeframe, this amount of material does not represent a significant change in the overall
timeline of the reclamation plan.
